When you’re working on either Facebook or Google advertising, you’ve most likely been asked to upload a product feed. The same may be true if you’ve created a [webshop](https://www.mickyweis.com/en/start-ecommerce-business/) on Pricerunner or an affiliate network.

But what is a product feed?

A product feed is simply a data file that contains all the information about your products.

## How do you create a product feed?

But Micky, how do I create a product feed?

There are many ways to do it. In some shop systems, you can just extract it via the system’s API. Otherwise, you can create it yourself in a spreadsheet. Alternatively, you can use dedicated tools for the task.

If you’re looking for Danish tools, you can use Boostmyfeed and Avecdo, both of which are good solutions.

## The difference between a good and a bad product feed

A bad product feed is one where prices are incorrect, and some wrong (or poor) descriptions are carried over, creating a generally bad impression (for example, in [Google Shopping](https://www.mickyweis.com/en/google-shopping-ads/)).

A good product feed, on the other hand, is one where images are displayed correctly, names and descriptions are tailored, and the feed might even be optimized for the specific platform you’re advertising on.

Additionally, both Facebook and Google reward you when you have good product feeds. The reward is a better quality score.
