Have you ever wondered how websites get their dynamic and interactive appearance, such as the ability to chat with site owners, join a forum, or cast a vote in a poll?<\/p>\n

This is made possible thanks to a special programming language called PHP<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

PHP stands for Hypertext Preprocessor<\/strong> and is a programming language primarily used for WordPress and many other types of websites.<\/p>\n

PHP is an open-source technology available to everyone, and it is a coding language that resembles JavaScript.<\/p>\n

Over time, many different versions of this open-source technology have been developed to keep up with the fast-paced evolution of web design and applications. Currently, the latest version is known as PHP 8.3 – but it gets updated regularly.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The difference, however, is that PHP is a server-side programming language that runs on a web server, unlike client-side languages.<\/p>\n

On the web server, PHP processes specific data and code before the user is presented with the client-side.<\/p>\n

PHP – A bit of background history<\/h2>\n

PHP, or Hypertext Preprocessor, emerged in the mid-90s as a solution for developers seeking to create more dynamic and interactive websites.<\/p>\n

\nInitially developed by Rasmus Lerdorf<\/a>, PHP quickly gained traction due to its flexibility and ease of use. Unlike traditional static web pages, PHP allowed for the seamless integration of databases, enabling the development of more engaging and responsive web experiences.\n<\/div>\n

Over the years, it has evolved into a powerful open-source scripting language, becoming the backbone of platforms like mentioned before; WordPress and driving countless websites globally.<\/p>\n
