With a pair of VR glasses, you experience a simulated world where everything feels real. This is made possible by the technology that recreates the same 3D depth effect we experience in the real world.<\/p>\n<div class=\"greenbox\">Today, VR is used for a wide range of purposes, and I\u2019m sure it will be used even more in the future. For example, we see how pilots and soldiers use virtual reality in defense to simulate real-life events, as well as large companies working with prototypes on a large scale, such as in the automotive industry.<\/div>\n<p>Basically, virtual reality can be used for visualizing an extended reality, and in my view, there are no limits to the contexts in which virtual reality can be of great benefit. Already, VR is particularly popular for simulated games, and I imagine the competition in the gaming market will only intensify with the big companies that have already launched their versions of VR headsets and controllers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/en\/augmented-reality\/\">VR and AR are both part of the concept of Extended Reality \u2013 read more about AR (Augmented Reality) in my post here.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_Oculus\"><\/span>What is Oculus?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Oculus, now a part of Meta, is the company behind some of the most popular VR headsets, which Meta has now made a central part of their rebranding strategy. The VR headsets will become an integral part of the so-called &#8220;Meta-verse&#8221; and will be continuously developed to create the best virtual experience for both users and businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Their latest launch, \u201cMeta Quest 2\u201d (since Meta\u2019s name change, all former Oculus headsets are now also Meta), is said to be a game-changer in the VR world. This headset and its accompanying controllers can do it all and only require the Meta Quest app to get started. Here, you\u2019ll find a wide variety of productivity apps as well as games, and you can step into a new world right away.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve often mentioned virtual reality as a game-changer in many different aspects of marketing, and Meta has now taken this to new heights. They are focusing on offering apps for visualizing products and prototypes, creative processes, virtual meetings, planning, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, I foresee that virtual reality will continue to be featured in my annual marketing trends posts and become even more relevant in marketing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you as excited about VR technology as I am?
