You typically want those visitors to convert into some form of customer. Therefore, an SEO text should not just be a long piece of text where the keyword appears many times.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, this is a widespread misconception.<\/p>\n<p>An SEO text is primarily written with the reader in mind. The visitors should feel that the text is useful and provides value. These are criteria that Google rewards, and it will therefore reflect in the ranking.<\/p>\n<p>However, there are fundamental factors that determine whether it is a good SEO text, technically speaking.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_long_should_the_text_be\"><\/span>How long should the text be?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A few years ago, everyone only talked about the length of SEO texts. Some claimed that a text under 1,000 words wasn\u2019t relevant, while others believed a text of 300 words could easily rank for a keyword.<\/p>\n<p>A general rule of thumb is to take a look at the length of the top five pages ranking right now, and then write your text 10% longer than theirs.<\/p>\n<p>Statistically speaking, longer texts tend to rank better than shorter ones. So if you have something relevant to write about, write comprehensively about everything worth covering on the topic.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to maintain a good user experience throughout the text. You can do this by using lots of headings and including a table of contents at the top of your text.<\/p>\n<p>This way, the text is easy to skim, and users can quickly find the information they are looking for.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_should_you_include_in_your_SEO_text\"><\/span>What should you include in your SEO text?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Here are some good points to keep in mind when writing your own SEO text:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Include your keywords in your headings.<\/li>\n<li>Use several headings throughout your text (just like in this article).<\/li>\n<li>Write your article long and exhaustively about the specific topic (but avoid filler content).<\/li>\n<li>Use formatting to highlight the most important points and keywords.<\/li>\n<li>Include your most important keywords as early as possible in the text.<\/li>\n<li>Link to other pages on your website (called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/en\/internal-linkbuilding\/\">internal link building<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Remember, the user needs to get value.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With the above in mind, you are well-equipped to take top positions on Google with your SEO texts.
