Traditionally, businesses create landing pages on their websites, directing users away from Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook wants to avoid this\u2014and with good reason. These landing pages often convert poorly, especially on mobile devices. This is where many go wrong\u2014it can be tempting to create a very broad audience, but that often leads to lower conversion rates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Start by creating your ad set, which defines your audience.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2053\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-05-kl.-08.17.07-1030x888-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-05 kl. 08.17.07\" width=\"980\" height=\"845\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Instead of going broad, try creating a few, very specific and well-defined audience segments.<\/p>\n<p>Examples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Visitors<\/strong> &gt; People who have visited your website<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fans<\/strong> &gt; Fans of your brand\u2019s Facebook page<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In both cases, exclude your existing email list to avoid targeting people already in your database.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> To use email lists or website visitor traffic for targeting, you\u2019ll need Facebook\u2019s website custom audience (tracking pixel).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2054\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-05-kl.-08.22.19-1030x601-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-05 kl. 08.22.19\" width=\"980\" height=\"572\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s relatively simple to create a good audience, and you&#8217;ll often see far better results using your own data rather than casting a wide net.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ad_setup\"><\/span><strong>Ad setup<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Next comes the creative part\u2014the ad itself.<\/p>\n<p>When setting up Lead Generation ads, you\u2019ll first be prompted to create a new fill-out form. Click on \u201cCreate new form\u201d and follow the step-by-step guide. It takes only 1\u20132 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>You can make your forms as detailed as you want, including fields like name, email, country, city; you decide.<\/p>\n<p>However, I recommend using as few fields as possible, as this usually gives the best results. Keep in mind that users see a lot of content in their newsfeed, so your ad needs to stand out.<\/p>\n<p>So far, contests have worked best for us.
