This means you tell Google through the code what the image is about.<\/p>\n<p>This can have a beneficial effect on your<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/en\/what-is-seo\/\"> Google optimization<\/a> through organic search results.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>As seen with Amazon, they use alt tags on their product images.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-302143\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/alt-tag-image-8-1024x435-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"435\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/moz.com\/learn\/seo\/alt-text\">Moz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Besides helping Google understand the page\u2019s content, it also makes it easier to rank in Google\u2019s image search.<\/p>\n<p>This means the images on your site have the chance to appear at the top of Google\u2019s image search results.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips for the right alt tag<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Describe the image as precisely as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Keep the text relatively short and avoid unnecessary adjectives \u2014 these are implied when the image is part of a text.<\/li>\n<li>Use keywords that make sense for the text the image is part of.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid keyword stuffing, but think about making it possible for Google to understand the image without seeing it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><br \/>\nLet\u2019s do a test \u2014 how would you write an alt tag for the image below of me teaching?
