{"id":8642,"date":"2019-12-20T16:17:01","date_gmt":"2019-12-20T15:17:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/aaret-der-gik-og-et-nyt-der-venter-af-hjertet-tak\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T20:22:04","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T18:22:04","slug":"reflecting-year-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/en\/reflecting-year-end\/","title":{"rendered":"Reflecting on the past year \u2013 and embracing the next"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2019 was, in many ways, an eventful year<\/p>\n<p>It brought business trips, insightful cases, exciting collaborations, new projects, talks, and so much more.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout 2019, I crossed paths with many inspiring people, and that has truly motivated me to kick even more ass in the new decade ahead.<\/p>\n<p>2019 was also the year I made my way to the world&#8217;s biggest sandbox, Dubai, to educate others about the e-commerce universe \u2013 and I\u2019ve become much wiser myself through trips like this, collaborations with exciting companies, and meetings with the aforementioned inspiring individuals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>A trip to Dubai<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Among other things, I taught The Coffee Souq, a webshop selling compatible coffee capsules.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-301499\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/dubai-tur.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"628\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2019 was also the year I had the honor of being a judge at EUXBizCup<\/p>\n<p>And wow, it makes me genuinely happy to see how many young talents are out there! If you ask me, the future is in good hands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Yours truly as a judge at the annual EUXBizCup<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Such a great experience to be part of.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-301495\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/DSC00540-1024x683-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the past year, I also had the chance to hire my talented sister.<\/p>\n<p>She joined as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/en\/writing-skills\/\">content<\/a> and PR shark \u2013 proud moment. Throughout the year, I\u2019ve seen people who matter to me grow both personally and professionally, and that means a great deal. A whole lot, in fact.<\/p>\n<p>What also means a lot to me are the many messages I receive daily.<\/p>\n<p>From students, companies, and educators wanting to learn more about the universe I\u2019m so passionate about. Thank you to all of you, and to the 100,000 people who visited my blog in 2019. You are the motivation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Talk at NOX Network<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Thanks for the trust, Mads and team.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-301491\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/MW-9-kopi-1024x683-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Soon we\u2019ll not only step into a new year, but a new decade.<\/p>\n<p>And honestly, that\u2019s a little scary \u2013 but also exciting!<\/p>\n<p>All I can say is that I\u2019m incredibly excited to see what 2020 will bring. But first, it\u2019s time to enjoy Christmas with my family, and afterward, Spain will be getting a visit from me and my dear mother \u2013 something I\u2019m truly looking forward to. In these busy times, we must remember to make space for those we care about most; our parents aren\u2019t getting any younger, even though my mother is remarkably youthful at heart.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy each other and be present.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s something I definitely want to improve on in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Before I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, here\u2019s a big wish from me.<\/p>\n<p>That 2020 will offer just as many exciting cases as 2019 did, more blog posts, talks, and other meaningful moments that contribute to the bigger picture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Thanks to the new projects I was part of in 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Here\u2019s a selection of them.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-301506\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/cases-2019-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"468\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Maybe 2020 will also be the year I realize my dream.<\/p>\n<p>To publish my own book about marketing, passion, adversity, and dedication \u2013 four key themes that symbolize my career and, to a large extent, my life.<\/p>\n<p>One thing is certain: 2020 will be a busy but great year.
