If you\u2019re a blogger or a business selling products suited for Snapchat, this is a great opportunity!<\/p>\n<p>Start by creating a Facebook campaign through Power Editor and choose &#8220;Clicks to website&#8221; or &#8220;Off-site destination&#8221; depending on which version of Facebook Power Editor you have.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3561\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2016-12-08-kl.-09.25.05.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"775\" height=\"638\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Set_up_audiences\"><\/span><strong>Set up audiences<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Once the campaign is created, we want to set up audiences that make sense for our brand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ask yourself these questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What age group is on Snapchat?<\/li>\n<li>Which locations make sense for your business?<\/li>\n<li>Do you have users on other platforms you want to bring to Snapchat?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Custom_audiences\"><\/span>Custom audiences<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you\u2019ve read my previous posts, you know I\u2019m a big fan of using custom audiences because it lets you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/en\/facebook-retargeting\/\">target users who already have a relationship with you<\/a> \u2014 users familiar with your website, app, or newsletter subscribers \u2014 they know who you are, so they\u2019re more likely to add you on Snapchat too.<\/p>\n<p>Custom Audiences is an advanced feature within Facebook\u2019s audience tools where you can choose more detailed segmentations. For example, you can create audiences based on website behavior, upload an email list of current newsletter subscribers, and more. It takes some time to master, but once you get a feel for it, it\u2019s one of the platform\u2019s strongest tools.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Custom audiences I will use for this campaign<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visitors to my website (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\">www.mickyweis.com<\/a><\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li>Subscribers to my newsletter<\/li>\n<li>Engagement on my Facebook page (those who like most posts)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Haven\u2019t fully set up custom audiences or installed the code on your website to target visitors?<br \/>\nKeep reading \u2014 I\u2019ll share some other audience ideas.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Fans\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fans<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Do you have a Facebook page or Instagram profile?<\/p>\n<p>Then you can also target your fans. Since they\u2019re already exposed to your brand, they\u2019re more likely to add you on Snapchat too.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if I were to run a campaign for Peter Bendtsen, I\u2019d target his Facebook fans with the Snapchat campaign.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3565\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2016-12-08-kl.-09.36.11.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"982\" height=\"943\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t have a large Facebook page?<\/p>\n<p>You need a Facebook page to advertise \u2014 so that\u2019s a requirement. But maybe you just don\u2019t have many fans yet!<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s look at another audience option that requires neither fans nor a website.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Age_location_interests\"><\/span><strong>Age, location &amp; interests<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Segment by age \u2014 which age group makes sense for you, your brand, and business to have on Snapchat?<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s take Peter\u2019s example again.<\/p>\n<p>Peter is a personal trainer and a respected name in the industry. There are many similar Facebook pages and interests in the Fitness &amp; Health category.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s see if Peter\u2019s brand can attract people not yet exposed to him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Broad audience setup for Peter Bendtsen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Based on interests, age, and location<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3566\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2016-12-08-kl.-09.40.01-644x1030-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"644\" height=\"1030\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As shown above, I chose several interests Facebook suggested for Peter\u2019s page. It\u2019s easy to guess that members of Fitness World who take supplements might also be interested in tips and tricks for personal training.<\/p>\n<p>I also chose Denmark as the location and a somewhat younger age, knowing Snapchat users tend to be younger than on other social platforms like Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>This audience would give me between 200,000 and 300,000 potential fans for Peter\u2019s Snapchat.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Placement\"><\/span>Placement<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The most important part of this campaign and strategy is placement.<\/p>\n<p>Through Power Editor, you can choose whether to show ads on mobile or desktop and where on those devices.<\/p>\n<p>Since Snapchat is a mobile app, I always disable desktop so ads only show on mobile devices.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3567\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2016-12-08-kl.-09.47.30.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"659\" height=\"556\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Create_the_ads\"><\/span><strong>Create the ads<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The last step is designing the ads themselves. I won\u2019t create 10-20 different formats here, but in practice, I would make many engaging ads \u2014 and you\u2019ll have future posts to look forward to \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>The most important thing is that the ad provides some value to the user \u2014 you need to answer the question: \u201cWhy should I click here?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Here\u2019s a quick example of such an ad:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3568\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2016-12-08-kl.-09.46.59.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"539\" height=\"542\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"greenbox\">\n<p><strong>Tip:<\/strong> It doesn\u2019t cost more to make many ads. For each audience, I often create 10-15 ads competing against each other. Over 2-3 days, I quickly identify which ads perform best. So be creative and test different graphic styles \u2014 the same goes for video, slideshows, etc. This way, you get results faster instead of testing one ad at a time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Set your budget<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I always start with a low budget \u2014 in my opinion, it doesn\u2019t make sense to start high since Facebook can spend quickly and waste your money. I start small and then check ROI (return on investment) and CPC (cost per click).<\/p>\n<p>Run your ads for 2-3 days, then evaluate which audiences and ads to keep running.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>My budget example<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>25 DKK is the minimum per day.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3572\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2016-12-08-kl.-09.54.01.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"648\" height=\"266\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I see Snapchat marketing as a huge opportunity for many businesses!<\/p>\n<p>Bloggers, personal trainers, and those in cooking or nightlife, for example, can benefit greatly from Snapchat because these types of businesses open up for visual content.<\/p>\n<p>Snapchat is a unique way to create direct dialogue with both customers and potential fans \u2014 so jump in if it makes sense for you and your business!<\/p>\n<p>What are your experiences with Snapchat, and have you tried it for business purposes?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you on Snapchat?
