I\u2019d also argue that it requires quite a bit of testing for your specific business and industry before you can say anything with certainty.<\/p>\n<p>Back when I started using Facebook for business in 2009, posting early in the day gave the best results. Overall, it can be said that brands are posting 31% more today than they did last year \u2013 and it\u2019s only going to increase.<\/p>\n<p>Especially if you look at media outlets like Buzzfeed, Vice.com, and similar companies that live off generating traffic to their sites.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2209 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image453.png\" alt=\"image453\" width=\"667\" height=\"502\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This means the competition for the top spot in your newsfeed is fiercer than ever. In fact, several studies show that around 2,000 posts try to compete for a place in your feed \u2013 every single day.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2213 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image343.png\" alt=\"image343\" width=\"536\" height=\"584\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So, does it help to post more times a day? What\u2019s better \u2013 posting once or ten times a day?<\/p>\n<p>More than 2,000 posts try to compete for space in your newsfeed every day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/facebook-post-frequency-benchmarks\">Hubspot<\/a>, a major media company working with social media, conducted a study on the correlation between the number of followers and the number of posts per day.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2210 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/FB_posts.png\" alt=\"FB_posts\" width=\"669\" height=\"275\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The general finding:<\/strong> the more fans you have, the more often you can get away with posting. On the other hand, if you don\u2019t have many followers, you\u2019ll see a decline in clicks if you post too often.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong>: Focus on creating the best content, not on posting frequently. Some of the most important include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Type of post (image\/text\/video) that receives the most engagement<\/li>\n<li>Which posts are reported as spam<\/li>\n<li>A user\u2019s interaction with Facebook ads<\/li>\n<li>The user\u2019s internet speed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This shows how important it is to consider what your users want to see \u2013 which doesn\u2019t always match what you <em>think<\/em> you should post.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Images\"><\/span><strong>Images<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Images are still a great idea. Something like \u201cWhich burger is better? McDonald\u2019s or Burger King?\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Strong thumbnails<\/strong>: Create your own thumbnail images and upload them \u2013 ideally with your brand logo to maintain consistency.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Create unique content for Facebook<\/strong>: Instead of reusing the same video across platforms, create something special just for Facebook. This gives users a feeling of exclusivity. I currently use two tools to manage and evaluate my social media work:<\/p>\n<p><strong>SumoRank<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Start by going to<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/sumorank.com\/fb-page\/buzzfeed\">SumoRank<\/a><\/strong>, enter your Facebook URL, and you\u2019ll get an overview. You can also use it to spy on your competitors and gain valuable insights into your industry.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2297 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-11-05-kl.-13.16.03-1030x401-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-11-05 kl. 13.16.03\" width=\"543\" height=\"202\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll get data like what performs best, what times to post, and which days are most popular. Valuable input for your strategy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BufferApp<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BufferApp is basically a queue system for Facebook (and other platforms). Instead of logging in each time, you connect your accounts and queue posts.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, many tools can do that.<\/p>\n<p>But what\u2019s great about BufferApp is its built-in analytics. After posting, you can review how your content performed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2298 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-11-05-kl.-13.20.19-1030x649-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-11-05 kl. 13.20.19\" width=\"535\" height=\"337\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And of course, I also use Facebook\u2019s own analytics tool, Insights.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll find Insights at the top of the pages you manage. It gives you all the data you need: where your likes come from, what times users visit, and which posts perform best.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2299 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-11-05-kl.-13.22.27-1030x155-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-11-05 kl. 13.22.27\" width=\"529\" height=\"80\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Facebook_likes\"><\/span>Facebook likes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To get the most engagement, you need the <em>right<\/em> fans. If you have fans from irrelevant locations (like India, if that\u2019s not your market), you\u2019ll get low engagement and hurt your Facebook ranking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Having 2,000,000 fans means nothing if only 10 engage with your content!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remember<\/strong>: Quality over quantity.<\/p>\n<p>When running Facebook ads, focus on people who\u2019ve visited your site or are most similar to your current audience.
