You do this in the settings of your page. You can do this whether or not you have a Business Manager account.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2154\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-13-kl.-07.10.04-1030x338-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-13 kl. 07.10.04\" width=\"980\" height=\"322\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The fact that Facebook owns Instagram becomes apparent when creating ads. You cannot create Instagram ads without using Facebook. Everything runs through Facebook\u2019s Power Editor, so it\u2019s important to be familiar with it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Example of my Power Editor for SlikhaarTV<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2145\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-13-kl.-06.48.28-1030x408-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-13 kl. 06.48.28\" width=\"980\" height=\"388\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Creating_campaigns\"><\/span><strong>Creating campaigns<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The first step is to create campaigns. After clicking Download to Power Editor, click create campaign. A popup will appear where you can choose the objective\u2014what is the goal of your campaign?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Currently, there are three objectives you can choose for your Instagram ads:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Clicks to website<\/strong> (You can add a button under your images linking to your site, e.g., for sales)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mobile app install<\/strong> (You get a button labeled &#8220;Install app&#8221;)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Video views<\/strong> (You get video plays and can link to your website, YouTube channel, or similar)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2147\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-13-kl.-06.51.52.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-13 kl. 06.51.52\" width=\"2\" height=\"4\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2148\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-13-kl.-06.51.55-1030x880-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-13 kl. 06.51.55\" width=\"980\" height=\"837\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s choose video views as the objective. This is what I chose for SlikhaarTV. Then you need to create an ad set, where you define your audience and placements.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Creating_audiences_and_placements\"><\/span><strong>Creating audiences and placements<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Click create ad-set!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2149\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-13-kl.-06.55.32-1030x886-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-13 kl. 06.55.32\" width=\"980\" height=\"843\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After creating your ad set, click edit to modify your audience. First, define your audience. If you\u2019ve read my previous posts, you know I always work with detailed segmentation to ensure quality.<\/p>\n<p>For example, I installed a code on my website, so under custom audience, I target All visitors\u2014all visitors from Slikhaarshop.com. Facebook compares this data with Instagram, so from all Slikhaar shop visitors, I can reach 33,000 people on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Notice that I exclude the fan page because I use this audience in another ad set, avoiding overlap to get the best data.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2150\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-13-kl.-06.57.14-1030x706-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-13 kl. 06.57.14\" width=\"980\" height=\"672\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re wondering how I selected Instagram, don\u2019t worry. Look at Placements on the right side\u2014you\u2019ll see Instagram Feed.<\/p>\n<p>This placement is chosen right under where you edit your audience. Note that it says Instagram. You can run ads in multiple places, but I usually stick to one placement to save time analyzing which placements perform best.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2151\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-13-kl.-07.02.03-1030x657-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-13 kl. 07.02.03\" width=\"980\" height=\"625\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Creating_ads\"><\/span><strong>Creating ads<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The last step is creating ads. You can probably handle this yourself, but it\u2019s important to pay attention to performance on Instagram. I\u2019ve already seen many ads that are not designed well for Instagram\u2014they just don\u2019t engage.<\/p>\n<p>If your Facebook page is connected, you\u2019ll see your Instagram account below.<\/p>\n<p>For Slikhaar, we chose video views because we have strong video content. Our Watch more button links directly to our YouTube channel to boost subscribers. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/en\/5-marketing-tips\/\">Remember from my previous post: it\u2019s about tracking your KPIs.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2153\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-13-kl.-07.05.36-1030x522-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-13 kl. 07.05.36\" width=\"980\" height=\"497\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s still too early to say much about the effect of my Instagram ads. We work in an international market with video content, which is easier than, for example, branding a local sports store on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>So far, it seems we get low-cost views, and around 90% of viewers watch the entire video.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2155\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-13-kl.-07.16.18-1030x411-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-13 kl. 07.16.18\" width=\"980\" height=\"391\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve also noticed a small increase in Instagram followers. Whether the numbers from Socialblade are 100% accurate is uncertain, but we\u2019re giving it a week and are already producing content tailored specifically for Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Facebook still drives the majority with over 50 million video views in the past six months, and YouTube with over 100 million, but overall it looks like Instagram can keep up.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve run ads from August 9\u201312, and the number of followers seems to be increasing slightly. We will cross-check the numbers over time, but if they hold, this is a promising marketing channel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Our followers are high quality due to our highly segmented audiences.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2156\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mickyweis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Skaermbillede-2015-10-13-kl.-07.19.04-1030x282-1.png\" alt=\"Sk\u00e6rmbillede 2015-10-13 kl. 07.19.04\" width=\"980\" height=\"268\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s all for now.
