It really depends on how much you want to do yourself and how much budget you are willing to put into it.
I’ve previously written a more detailed guide about starting a webshop from scratch.
Personally, I would do the following:
Start a Shopify store and set up a theme you can manage yourself, so you learn how everything works. That’s one of the fun parts of running a webshop. Begin with the basics so you get started and receive your first orders.
Depending on the size of your packages, use DAO and GLS as logistics partners.
You’ll need a payment agreement to accept cards – talk to Clearhaus or PensoPay A/S about this.
- Install Google Analytics with e-commerce tracking.
- Set up email flows via Shopify to start with.
- Use Sleeknote to collect emails through popups.
- Use MailChimp for newsletter campaigns.
- Create a Facebook Business Manager and implement the pixel so you can run remarketing.
If you’d rather buy professional help, costs can range anywhere from 20,000 to several 100,000+ depending on what you want the webshop to do. But you won’t escape having to invest time in understanding the essentials.
In my opinion, a webshop is not plug and play. If you truly want success, you need to dive in and learn most of it yourself.
