Local SEO is something all businesses should work with.

Local SEO is a branch of SEO where the goal is to target specific geographic searches (city, neighborhood, region).

For example, it could be “funeral director in Aalborg” if you run a funeral business in Aalborg or the surrounding area.

Why you should work with local SEO

The purpose of local SEO is to appear in specific location-based searches where users are looking for something nearby.

If you run a funeral business, the keyword “funeral director” isn’t as important as the local keyword. It’s more important for you to appear when users search for a funeral director in your area, even though “funeral director” may have a higher search volume.

Another key aspect of local SEO is appearing on Google Maps and their suggestions, as seen in the example below.

You will take up much more space in the SERP, which increases the chances of users contacting your business.

Additionally, there is the synergy between Google My Business and your organic SEO visibility.
